Where is it?

pointReturn is in Kancheepuram district in north Tamil Nadu, in southern India. It is almost exactly midway between Chennai [formerly Madras] and Pondicherry.

Although it is tucked away in a quiet village, it is accessible from the north, south and east.
Driving down south on the Grand Southern Trunk Rd [GST Rd] from Chennai, past the airport, the Ford Motors factory and Chengalpattu town one gets to Madurantakam, which is a noisy crowded bazaar town. Just before on the right is the turn for Vedanthangal, a popular bird sanctuary.
Madurantakam is also a taluka head-quarters, has a train stop, a bus station and all manner of shops in narrow, dusty streets. It is 13kM from pointReturn. Emerging out of the southern end of Madurantakam, one enters a very relaxing, tree lined country road with little traffic. At 6 kM point you turn left at Mudhukarai and drive a further 5 kM east. Another pleasant drive. Turn right into the village of Jamin Endathur, and you are 3 kM th eointReturn site.
